TOURISM FORUM TAKES PLACE

Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ The 5th Northeast Asian tourism forum has been held in Ulaanbaatar. It is co-hosted by the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, the working service of Ulaanbaatar City Mayor, the Mongolian Tourism Association, the Mongolian Tourism Support Center, and the "Gazarchin" Institute.
The forum was attended by representatives of China, Russia, the Republic of Korea, North Korea, and Japan.
Addressing the gathering, Minister of Environment and Tourism L.Gansukh stressed that the Government of Mongolia had recognized the tourism as one of the priority economic sectors. The international forum will play a major role in accelerating the development of tourism in this region and fostering regional cooperation and partnership.
In its context, three branch meetings were hosted on the themes "Northeast Asia tourism-regional concept and analysis", "Northeast Asia tourism-concepts of each countries and analysis", and "Northeast Asia tourism-discussion of students and youth".
On Thursday, attendees of the forum took part in the opening ceremony for international tourism fair "Eastern circle" in the Misheel Expo center. About 100 domestic tour operators are advertising their activities at the fair.
