The Democratic Union, Mongolian National Green Movement, Mongolian Green Cross, Fair Citizens Front and Civil Union called a press conference on March 24 to discuss a mercury situation in Ulaanbaatar. They said negative effects of gold mining were impacting on land from mercury poisoning and submitted a petition to State heads to demand to stop the Gold Program within the scope of law. They requested the state to take all control on granting permission to mine gold and monitor it fully.
